DESCRIPTION
This sculpture was inspired by Theodor Seuss Geisel’s Unorthodox Taxidermy series. It was made from wood, plaster, epoxy, yarn, wire, false lashes, & ostrich feathers. It was made by first sculpting the work in plasticine and creating a silicone mold with a plaster shell and then cast in plaster. The plaster piece was then sanded, painted, and sealed. Additional parts like the eyes, eyelashes, & 'antennas' were added. The antennas were made from wrapping wire with yarn and gluing feathers to the end. It was then mounted to a wooden plaque that I made from scrap plywood.
